What we do in Collingwood
Our Smith Street shop brings the same craft and care to Collingwood and Fitzroy, from vintage finds and workwear to outfits for a big event.
- Pants and jeans: hems (including original jeans hems), waist adjustments, tapering and denim repairs.
- Dresses and skirts: length, fit, straps and fastenings, from everyday to evening wear.
- Suits and jackets: sleeves, shoulders, body fit and relining.
- Wedding and bridal: hems, bustles, bodice fitting, lace and beadwork.
- Shirts and uniforms: sleeves, length and fit, plus everyday repairs.
- Mending, zips and patching: give your favourite pieces a second life.

How much will it cost?
Check the indicative price guide, then bring your garment in for a quote. Fabric, construction and the work involved all affect the price, and we’ll always confirm it before we start.
Can you help with an urgent alteration?
Most simple jobs are ready in 3–5 days, and more complex work in 1–2 weeks. In a rush? Express options are available for an extra fee. Call us with your deadline. Express rates are 30% for same-day, 20% for next-day and 10% for two-day work, or 40% for same-day and 30% for next-day on Saturdays. Express depends on how busy we are, so we’ll confirm it and your pickup time before we start.
