What we can do
Fit and length
Shorter sleeves, a new hem length or a closer fit through the body. Leather keeps its old stitch holes, so panels and seam allowance can limit some changes, especially letting out.
Seams and patch repairs
Tears, worn patches and broken stitching can often be reinforced or patched. Leather repairs usually show a little, so we’ll show you how yours is likely to look before we start.
Linings and zips
A worn lining or broken zip doesn’t mean the end of a jacket you love. Ask us about relining and a new zip.
Pockets and other changes
Want to change the pockets or restyle the piece? Bring it in and we’ll talk it through with the garment in hand. The condition of the leather and finding a matching piece decide what we can do.
Motorcycle gear
We alter motorcycle jackets and pants for a closer, more comfortable fit, keeping their protective features in mind. Bring your gear so we can check the armour, padding and construction first.
Shoulders, sleeves and closures
Leather jackets and coats, from trench coats to bombers, can have the shoulders and sleeves adjusted and zips, buttons or snaps replaced or changed.
How much does it cost?
The thickness and condition of the leather, the lining, how easily we can reach the seams and any replacement parts all affect the price.
Every leather and suede job is quoted individually. Prices for fabric jackets or trousers don’t apply to these materials.
Bring it in and we’ll take a look, talk you through the work and confirm your price before you leave it with us. If you have matching fabric, buttons or measurements, bring those too.
Working with leather and suede
Fit changes, hems and fastenings
Before we agree on any change, we look at the leather, the seams and the old stitching. Bring the piece in to talk about sleeve or hem length, body fit, the lining or fastenings. We’ll show you where the work will sit and whether existing marks or wear might show. Leather doesn’t behave like woven fabric, so we choose the method to suit it.
Repairs, vintage pieces and bigger changes
A worn patch, a torn seam and a broken zip are different repairs. We check the leather around the damage, then suggest a patch, a new part or another fix. For a vintage or sentimental piece, tell us what you want to keep. For major redesigns, heavy-duty items or accessories, have a chat with the shop first.
Your questions
Will the old stitching disappear?
Not always. Leather can keep needle holes and slight colour differences, so we’ll talk about this before we make any changes.
Can you replace a leather jacket zip?
Yes. We’ll look at the jacket and the zip it needs. How it’s made and finding the right replacement affect the price and timing.
Can every leather jacket be resized?
Not every one. The condition of the leather, the shape of the panels and where the seams sit all matter. We’ll take a look and tell you honestly what’s realistic.
Will a leather repair show?
Usually a little. Matching texture, colour and existing wear on leather is tricky, so we’ll show you how the repair is likely to look before you decide.
Should I unpick the seam before bringing it in?
Please don’t! Bring it in as it is. Seeing the original stitching and construction helps us find the best fix, and cutting or removing parts first can limit the options.
How long will the work take, and is express available?
Most simple jobs are ready in 3–5 days, and more complex work in 1–2 weeks. In a rush? Express options are available for an extra fee. Just tell us your deadline. Express rates are 30% for same-day, 20% for next-day and 10% for two-day work, or 40% for same-day and 30% for next-day on Saturdays. Express depends on how busy we are, so we’ll confirm it and your pickup time before we start.
